Make a plan: Put together a detailed list of everything from the last two semesters that you don't know / can't do. You also have some time to catch up, rather than coming to this realisation 3 weeks before the exam. You're honest about the fact that you've wasted a lot of time and got behind, which is good, because not everyone admits this to themselves.
You sound like a lot of students who call me (as a private tutor) at this time of year. I don't care what I have to do, I NEED to know this stuff. Any good online resorces, I'm I feel like I'm spinning wheels and going nowhere when I do stuff at home then take it to my teacher and he critics it, cas there is so much time between doing it and getting a 30 second response that I don't remember what I was thinking at the time. That and some of the functions are thowing me, so you know, just the stuff that EVERYTHING IS BASSED OFF OF.Īnyway I have a program we use for class (practica musica) but the program itself is so broken that I spend more time fighting it and putting the notes in than I actually do actually practicing (it takes up to 3 min to write in a simple C major triad). My main problems seem to be part writing, I actually am understanding modulation and stuff, its the basics of part writing thats getting me, that and small problems with analysis(it takes me FOREVER but I can do it). Ive talked to my teacher (also my adviser / composition teacher) and I'm doing what he says to do but its not enough. Well now I'm in theory 3 and I'm failing tests. I'm a music composition major (so theory is VERY important) and i've been lazy the last 2 semester and didn't do my homework and I slid by barley passing.
